Class Schedule for CPAA in Lancaster, near Cedar Avenue & Lanc. Blvd

Indulge yourself in the Ancient Art of Belly dance.

                Firm your body through exercising
       isolated muscle groups with
         stretching & undulating body movements.

              Find harmony between movement and music.

          Let Middle Eastern rhythms motivate you
         in an aerobic workout.

                Learn to appreciate YOUR special look.

                Build self-confidence.

The classes are open to all ages &levels of experience.
Class will begin with simple warm-ups and stretches, followed by basic isolations and heart-pumping drills. Basic movements will gradually be linked together to create short combos that will be performed in class, so that students can apply the technique they just practiced. Combos will include traveling, layering and snakey sequences.

Vichelle emphasizes technique & execution, so that Students that are interested can learn choreographies for use
in the "Dancing Caravan" performances
organized by Vichelle.

Performance opportunities
with "The Desert Divas" at bellydance events, local festivals
and at convalescent centers (to honor our seniors)
are optional & require approved costuming,
which can be made or purchased.

aka: Danse du Ventre, Egyptian Cabaret (Raqs al Sharqi), Turkish Bellydance, Lebanese Cabaret, Armenian (Folk) Line Dances,
American Tribal Fusion AND American Cabaret.

BASIC INFORMATION

Classes are held in East Lancaster, in my small personal studio.

Dance Styles Taught: Raks Sharki, American Cabaret, American Tribal, Arabic, Lebanese, Ethnic/ Folkloric, Armenian, Fusion Bellydance, Yoga, Middle Eastern rhythms (drum-zills).

Dances can includes the use of tambourines, zils, single/double/triple veils (isis wings, circular or rectangular) & balancing jugs, baskets or swords.

Classes include a new choreography about every other month (when basic steps are mastered).

Beginner's Classes: Accepts students ages 10-Adult. No dance experience.
Younger students permitted, when mother is enrolled in class too.

Int/Advanced Classes: Contact Vichelle to enroll. Same age requirements.

FEES:
       Beginners/Advanced: $32 in advance for 4 weeks per student
        Mother-Daughter: $50 in adv. for 4 wks. (daughters 14 &under)
       Drop-in fee: $10/wk. (Advanced Only, with permission)
        Private Coaching: $30/hr,
        Zil Class - $5 per person

An annual recital has been held each year (since 1996) at the AV FAIR, where friends & family can gather & revel in your glory. Approved costumes will be required for performances with Vichelle & the Daughters of the Wind. Participation is optional.
