HIRING A BELLYDANCER for your Event

The Basics:

Know the Date & Time for your event, How many dancers you want and the length of the performance you want (i.e. A quick bellygram? a full length solo? A full show? Lessons for your guests?)  Below to the right are some suggestions.  Further Down the page are fees for different options.  Email me, with your questions.

'Happy Birthday' Song:
A great way to start a Birthday surprise, this version of the well known tune begins slowly & is great for singing by your guests, then moves into an upbeat Egyptian interpretation of the song.

'The Do’s & Don’ts of Middle Eastern Dance' SKIT: 
A hilarious look at the isolated movements that create a middle eastern dance performance. Full of excitement and props to demonstrate the ultimate misinterpretation of the dance.  Educational display demonstrating movements.
Interactive fun for your guests too.

'The Dancing Caravan'
The story of a caravan making it’s way along the ‘SILK ROUTE’ from China to Cairo in 700 A.D. Highlighted along the way is the terrain, the trade items of the region and the people & their customs. A mix of solos and group dances. Features circular & rectangular veils, basket or jug balance, cane & Tambourine.

'Hassim’s Lamp'
A pauper's dream becomes reality in this magical story.
A mix of solos and group dances.
Features a sword dance, basket or jug dance.

'The Sultan’s Dream'
It’s a hot August night on the Sahara Desert when this Sultan’s eyes play tricks on him.  Solos and a troupe finale.

BellyDance Fees

Base fee is $125.  Cost includes music analysis and dance choreography, custom CD preparation, travel time, and time in for performance prep (costuming and stage make-up application).

Performances may include finger cymbals/zills/sagat, and can utilize props such as veil,  cane (stick/assaya), sword, shamadan, tambourine), and may involve audience participation with the guest of honor or other audience members.

Safety:  It is the responsibility of the client to ensure the safety of the dancer and her belongings. Their must be adequate space for the dancer to spin with a veil. The floor must be clear of all clutter and debris. A secure place to change and store belongings must be procured. If the dancer feels unsafe for any reason, she reserves the right to leave with payment in full. At times, the dancer will bring a chaperone to ensure her safety.

What I provide:  

  • Professional Quality Family Oriented Entertainment of Middle Eastern dance.
  • The performance will be created especially for your audience in terms of: 
    Costume choices (dancer's discretion: traditional cabaret, folk, gypsy, fusion) 
    Music selection (based on the customers preference: classical Egyptian, Armenian, Greek, Arabic pop, Spanish-Arabic fusion)  and the Props you would like to see. 
  • I will create a custom CD for your event, which you can keep as a souvenir.
  • Additional Dancers available upon request, additional fees will apply.

What you need to provide:

  • Pay a non-refundable Deposit to reserve your event date.
  • Provide a secure area to change and store for my equipment during the event. 
  • The client must provide an appropriate sound system that plays burned CDs. Please note that regular portable boom boxes are insufficient in terms of sound quality and volume.
  • Provide a clean level surface to safely dance barefoot on or tell me to wear shoes.
  • Adequate space for the dancer to spin with a veil
  • The floor must be clear of all clutter and debris.
  • Maintain adequate control of your guests.  NO grabbing the dancer, NO Lap dancing.

NOTE:   Dancer may not accept tips in her costume, but adores being showered with money!
If you wish to allow your guests to tip the dancer please place a tip jar nearby.

Package 1:  A Standard Performance ................$125*
Includes 1 (one) 20-minute performance.

Package 2:  A Party Performance
....

Includes 1 (one) 45 minute lesson and 1 (one) 15 minute performance. Dancer provides hip scarves and veils for lesson use. (Scarves must be returned.) Perfect for bachlorette, girls night, henna parties and bridal showers.

Package 3:  A Sampler Performance .................$150*
Includes 1 (one) 10-minute performance and 1 (one) 15 minute mini lesson (lesson covers hip lifts, hip drops, figure 8's, shoulder shimmies, hip shimmies, undulations, exotic hands and snake arms). Dancer also provides hip scarves and veils for lesson use. (Scarves must be returned.)

Package 4:  A Bellygram Performance .................$125*
includes 1 (one) ten minute mini performance. This package is perfect for an office birthday.

Customize Your Package: 

Vichelle can create a belly-danceable remix of most any music to suit a client's theme. Additional Cost may apply.

FULL Shows: Prices vary depending on show length & number of dancers.   SEE list below.

*Extra fees may be applied for  travel time & wait time in between sets.

To book your event:

  • Send Vichelle an E-mail with "book a bellydancer "in the Subject Line.
  • Once the details are determined "Vichelle's Enterprises" will send you a money request via PayPal for half the amount owed (with PayPal, you can use a credit card or checking account to make your payment). You may book with a personal check only if there is enough time for the check to clear.   The other half must be paid in full with cash upon arrival,  i.e. payment must be made in full before the dancer(s) will perform.
  • You may choose to pay the full fee before the event if that is more convenient to you.
