As an artist and professional textile designer I was first introduced to silk painting over sixteen years ago and became captured by the medium. The flow of the dyes and the way the colors run into each other on this sensual silken fabric is beautiful and sometimes unpredictable. Color is an important part of my work, so the strong intensity of the dyes is a great asset when combining fantasy with intense color to recreate my subject.  When I decide on a subject for my work , I hope to capture the beauty of things around me whether it is everyday objects , places I've been or just from my imagination. I frequently travel with my camera and use many of the photos I have taken for inspiration. I believe beauty can be found in the most mundane settings. The key is how you interpret your observations to bring forth that beauty into art.
