READY FOR CHRISTMAS?
People have been asking me for the past week if I am ready for Christmas? I have no clue
as to the question let alone the answer? Am I ready for Christmas as in I wish tomorrow were December 22, which
would mean at least a four day weekend? Am I ready for Christmas as in I have spent a little time each day for
the last 24 days thinking about all the GIFTS I can give to those I love, for example, more time with Diana, more face to
face time with David, and more response to the special birthdays in Fresno? Am I ready for Christmas as in I have
managed to exercise several days a week so I can gobble like a Turkey on December 25? Am I ready for Christmas as in
I have written a special Christmas poem for the special people in my life and placed it in a nice frame as a gift for under
the tree? Am I ready for Christmas as in I am looking forward to sipping on Egg Nog when we decorate the tree a few
weeks before Christmas this year? Am I ready for Christmas as in I am working at being naughty and nice to those special
naughty and nice people in my life? Am I ready for Christmas as in putting up the 3000 watt rotating beam in the backyard
so Santa lands in the back yard this year instead of on our tile roof which the reindeer ripped to shreds last year?
Am I ready for Christmas as in having my picture taken with Santa Claus at Macy's? Am I ready for Christmas as in I
have sent a letter to all of my loved one telling them in great detail what I want for Christmas? Am I ready for Christmas
as in I have ordered our Christmas Dinner from Gerrards? Am I ready for Christmas as in I bought a new Mercedes Benz
for Diana without David knowing (he sells Acuras!)? Am I ready for Christmas as in I've changed the water in the Spa
so we can sit in it on Christmas Eve and watch Santa land in the back yard? Am I ready for Christmas as in I just sold
my Christmas Special to Hallmark? Am I ready for Christmas as in I found a way to explain to a little boy why Santa
won't bring him a new "Pinky" which recently was severed in an accident? Am I ready for Christmas as in I touched everyone
with my magic wand and took away all of their pain? Am I ready for Christmas as in I picked up the homeless man who
sleeps on the sidewalk next to the Von's Shopping Center, brought him home and set him up in our bonus room? (That was
Diana's suggestion, by the way!) Am I ready for Christmas as in I did an Irish Jig up and down the parking lot outside
of the Von's Shopping Center making everyone laugh and forget their troubles? Am I ready for Christmas as in I took
a few moments to look into all the eyes that pass me by each day and let them see on my face how wonder-filled they each are
and how deserving they each are of all the love in the world and in the heavens? Am I ready for Christmas as in
I bought a dozen roses from someone at the end of the offramp? You know, I could go on and on here. SO WHAT
DOES THAT QUESTION MEAN FOR YOU? I am ready to light a few thousand candles on a birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday.
I am ready to sing some Hannukah songs and celebrate Kwanza. I am ready to be a part of the human race and wave and
smile and maybe even pick up some reindeer poop. If that what "Are you ready means?" Well, maybe I am.
Are your ready?

Scott is the GENTLEman on the left. You can tell how much we love each other!

The music, Clair De Lune, is from the CD Debussy/Ravel Piano Works.
It is a Classical Gallery CD produced by Platinum Disc Corporation, P. O. Box
2798, La Crosse, Wisconsin 94602
This is one of my favorite piano pieces from the many concerts I attended as a little
kid right there in my own living room--listening to Mom play.
See blog for March 10.

Ian on his favorite morning--CHRISTMAS--with his favorite animal--ANGEL! See Blog for August 23.

My Birthday buddy, Glenn, getting into WILDFIRE!

Maynard on his 92nd birthday, contemplating kicking my butt in cribbage!
