GRANDMA KATE'S BIRTHDAY
HEY, BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE BLOG FROM 12-22.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO KATE

Back in the old days, when we were kids growing up, walking five miles in the snow to school, church, corner grocer, and everywhere else, for some strange reason, we did not celebrate Grandma Kate's birthday.  In fact, I didn't even know it was her birthday till I was practically an adult.  I was shocked to find out her birthday was December 24 and even more shocked that we did not celebrate it as a family.  Once I knew, I made it a point to celebrate it every year, even after she died.
Kate was an interesting woman.  She did some pretty crazy things as a young woman, but managed to pull it all together in her more tame years and was bestowed with the bene merenti medal from the Pope.
That was Grandma Kate for you.
I think she won the medal for her Crab Cocktail which was the highlight of Christmas dinner!
Well, Kate, we will miss you one more year.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Maybe you knew her.  She was originally Catherine Simpson, then she married my Grandfather and became Catherine Bradley.  After he died, she married Bob and was
 Catherine Algeo.
It's been a while since I googled you, Kate, so I don't know if you are any more famous or infamous than you were the last time I googled you!
again
HAPPY DAY!

The music, Clair De Lune, is from the CD Debussy/Ravel Piano Works.
It is a Classical Gallery CD produced by Platinum Disc Corporation,  P. O. Box 2798, La Crosse, Wisconsin 94602
This is one of my favorite piano pieces from the many concerts I attended as a little kid right there in my own living room--listening to Mom play.
See blog for March 10.
