THE WRITERS' STRIKE IS OVER!

HI EVERYONE!

What happened to my blog?  My only excuse is the writer’s strike! And since it is over, you will begin reading new blogs a little more regularly. And besides, my favorite fan--my "oldest" sister--has read all the previous blogs and is begging for new material.

Well, speaking of writing. I finished my book. The Title is FROM THE FRYING PAN TO THE JACUZZI. It is a book for couples, for anyone interested in what it is like to be in a relationship in the 21st century, or for anyone interested in a good read! It is funny, insightful, and full of challenges. I have "booked" my first speaking engagement about the book for June at the local Kiwanis Club Breakfast meeting. Now all I have to do is get some copies printed up. I will try to upload some pages soon.

It is the season of LENT, and the way it is going, it will soon be IT WAS Lent! So what did you give up for Lent. I gave up giving up stuff! It seems to me that growing up in my Catholic family during the late forties and fifties (20th century), was an experience of OFFERING UP one thing after another. I remember Dad insisting that we rake up the leaves on the windiest Saturday morning of the Fall. "Just offer it up," Mom would say. So I thought that offering it up meant we could burn the leaves in the gutter like all the other neighbors! Oh no, not the Bradley kids. We had to transport those $%&* leaves to the alley for the trash man to pick up. I had to stand at the curb when the ice cream man drove by and shout at him, "I’d like an ice cream. I even have the ten cents. But I’m offering it up. Sorry!" I heard later that the ice cream man went broke during Lent and had to sell his truck and his whole family ended up becoming pagan babies! If you’re not Catholic, it will too hard to explain what pagan babies are, but I can tell you one thing. All my offering up during Lent supposedly got a lot of pagan babies baptized, and I just hope that now that they are adults, they won’t come looking for me!

Well, this was just a little update. Thanks for reading.

Help out the world condition today or tomorrow and make peace with someone.
