GR-R-R-R-REA-A-A-A-T SCOAT! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAN!
"G-r-r-r-r-r-r-rea-a-a-a-at S-s-s-s-s-scoat! Oh me eyerish lad, yur Burtday. I dint furget, it
jus passed me by. Taught aboat you evur since it donned on me lass fryday tat fryday was the beeg day. So, how old are yus?
Yur a saint, me lad. Great Scoat, yur a saint fur shoer."
Well, someone emailed me this message. I think it was from Monsignor Cleary, so I am forwarding
it on to yus!
So, big guy, what are you up to these days besides getting old? I remember, like it was yesterday,
when the Yucaipa Sheriff was looking for your van! For those of you who do not know Scott, my brother in law, back in the
Seventies, Scott had a beat-up yellow van that resembled the van the SLA used to kidnap Patty Hearst. It’s a wild story that
ended well with filet mignon and fresh strawberries. Back in the Seventies, everything ended up with filet mignon and fresh
strawberries! Those of you who weren’t born yet, missed out on a lot!!
Scott is a man’s man. He is a real GENTLE man. Truly saintly in so many ways. At least that’s
the side we all get to see. There’s a recent You Tube video of a claims adjuster in Fresno jumping up and down on a car at
an accident scene, and I swear it looks like Scott!
Scott is also VERY funny. Well, he might be funny peculiar, but for sure, funny HA HA! Haven’t
heard that expression before? We can’t be that old! You should’ve seen him, back in the day when it was politically correct
to make fun of people. There he was driving a 1972 Mustang with his hands off the steering wheel and imitating a congressman
getting shot by an arrow. The congressman was giving a speech against legislation in favor of Native Americans. After the
Mustang rolled down a gully, we were all still laughing hysterically, Scott decided to get a job with Farmers. And then there
was the time that Scott asked one of Marianne’s relatives, who was "handicapped" and limped, "Did a little too much dancing
last night, did ya?" Those people were very wealthy and HAD actually decided to give Scott and Marianne a million dollars
as a wedding gift. You can figure out the rest of the story!
Scott is also a man of FAITH. Perhaps more faith than any of us will ever be able to muster. That
says a lot about him. He’s definitely the person you want on your side, and we’ll see how that goes after he reads this blog!
Please click on the link and watch the Beatles sing Happy Birthday to you, Scott.

Love ya LOTS.

This is one of my favorite piano pieces from the many concerts I attended as a little
kid right there in my own living room--listening to Mom play.
See blog for March 10.

Ian on his favorite morning--CHRISTMAS--with his favorite animal--ANGEL! See Blog for August 23.

My Birthday buddy, Glenn, getting into WILDFIRE!

Maynard on his 92nd birthday, contemplating kicking my butt in cribbage!
