The purpose of the Kindergarten at Van Riper Ellis Christian School is to provide children with a rich, meaningful and balanced curriculum of skill and information through activities that encourage the children to want to learn. Our goal is to build upon your child's natural curiosity. We want to motivate them to remain enthusiastic learners to ensure an easy transition into a first grade program. Our Reading and
Math Programs
are
State Approved
Our classroom environment is a place where the children are taught to care about each other as well as learn from and with their peers. It is a community of learners where active play, non-competitiveness and fun are of upper most importance.

Some of the topics we hope to include in science and social studies are insects, hygiene, nutrition, safety, transportation, weather, authors, ecology, various animals and holidays. If your child has any particular interests or hobbies, please let us know and we will be happy to try to include it in our curriculum.

All activities are intellectual and emotionally suited for five and six year old's. The children learn in a way that they learn best; ACTIVELY & CONCRETELY. They will think critically, solve problems, explore and share ideas.

All subject areas are taught through unifying themes that children enjoy exploring. By unifying themes we can make the activities come alive for every child. The themes incorporate phonics (sounds/symbol relationships), science experiments, manipulatives, arts, crafts, cooking and field trips all of which will engage the children's interest and enthusiasm.
