In a nutshell: Straightforward, thats how this weekend went. Nothing too crazy one way or the other, which is just
how we wanted it!
The final round of the CCS calendar (and what would become the last-ever round of CCS's now defunct Pacific region) found
us back at Buttonwillow. Funny that the last time we were here we were in 'conservation' mode running 1:56's and this
month we were pushing and still didnt break 2:00. We're not totally sure what to make of that one!
Saturday practice was goodly uneventful and Sunday's first race was GTO. A really great, fun ride from the back
of the grid was rewarded with a 3rd place finish, some great, close racing and alot of passing. Overall a really fun
race in which to ride.
The last race of the weekend, month, and year was the venerable LWGP race. Vince won the race going away, as he
has for every CCS Amateur LWGP entered this year. Unfortunatey the reward was a lesson in consistency, as the top overall
spot for the year went to Al Harris who, despite being a really, really nice guy, got the overall to the dismay of Vince for
his consistency. The DNF/DNS's incurred at Streets and Vegas proved to be too much of a deficit to overcome even by
winning every other race.
Looking back it was a really great year racing, we can't wait to get 2005 underway!
