About the Author:
Dr. Michael Frensch was born in 1948, in Marburg Lahn, West Germany. In 1978 he completed his doctoral thesis on the religious philosophy of Nicholas of Cusa, after having studied in Frankfurt, Paris, and finally Munich. In 1983 he moved to Kinsau, West Germany where he helped establish a spiritual and therapeutic community devoted to Anthroposophy and Christian Hermeticism. For seven years he was the Editor of Hermetika, Journal for Christian Hermeticism, and for three years the director of Hermetika publishing company. Since 1987 he has resided in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, with his wife Eva and their four children, and acts as the Editor of Novalis, Journal for Spiritual Thinking (formerly Die Kommenden), where he is primarily concerned with developing healing and far-reaching imaginations of the potentials of a renewed Europe. In 1991 Piper Verlag of Munich published Western Esotericism from Antiquity to the Present--an Anthology, edited and with commentary by Dr. Michael Frensch.
