Kelly on the Knitty Gritty set Meet the Designer

Kelly Wilson is a young designer who puts a fresh twist on knitting and crocheting. From sassy purses to sizzling jewelry to funky fuzzy dice, Kelly's designs blend a whimsical touch with simplicity that even beginners can master.

Kelly has appeared on two episodes of DIY Network's "Knitty Gritty," showing off her designs for car accessories and jewelry. Her work can be found in magazines and pattern booklets at Michaels, JoAnn, Hobby Lobby, Hancock Fabrics and independent yarn shops. In addition to the patterns on kellywilsondesigns.com, you can also order her Purses for Sassy Girls booklet from Leisure Arts or buy downloadable patterns at The Knitting Vault.

Kelly learned to knit when she was six, and later taught herself to crochet. She also spins and dyes her own yarn, makes beaded jewelry and teaches others how to knit and crochet. She's a member of The National Needle Arts Association, The Knitting Guild Association, the Crochet Guild of America, and the Prince William Purlers of Manassas, Virginia.
