                              Lindsey3 Godbey , born abt 1822; died aft 1880.  He married (1) Laticia (---) , born abt 1831; (2) aft 1860 Susan J. (---) , born abt 1842.   Notes: The census of 1850 of Logan County (now part of West Virginia), and of 1860 of Pulaski County, Virginia, show that Benjamin and Nancy had children named William, Janie, Rhoda, and Nancy, and gives their ages, so their birth dates can be approximately calculated.  Proof that there were other children (but not their names) can be seen from the Montgomery County census of 1830, and the Pulaski County census of 1840.  The names of some of the children can be determined from land records in Virginia:  (a)  A deed of Pulaski County for 23 January 1843 identifies Lindsey C. Godbey as a child of Benjamin Godbey. (b)  A deed of 24 December 1852 identifies Sarah Gillenwater, Lucinda Bailey, and Gabriel Godbey as being "heirs" of Benjamin Godbey. (c)  A deed of 23 January 1854 identifies Gabriel Godbey as a son of Benjamin Godbey.
