The semester has begun! My first class is on Monday. So updates will be fewer when things start picking up.

 

Not much new - Chris managed to sleep from 9pm-6:30am last night (yippee!) but Dom was up like 6 times. So I still got no sleep. However, I am hopeful that this means they are getting closer to going all night without waking.

Chris cut a new tooth on Friday (the 19th), his upper right lateral incisor. So now both of them have their two bottom front teeth and all 4 upper incisors.

 

Chris is still biting a lot. I hope he gets over it soon. He tried to bite Dom sometimes too. Both still sleeping badly. I don't know what to do with them. 16 days until they turn one!

The boys have a small soccer ball (look in the new pics in August, on Aug 17 sitting outside Chris is chewing on it), and they crawl around the living room batting it to each other and laughing their heads off. Sometimes they'll pick it up in one hand and crawl along holding it. They are too funny.

 

We've put them back on Zantac (thanks to the Tea for the suggestion). The first night it didn't seem to make any difference but now it's been three nights and they're sleeping longer stretches. They're just getting a 1ml dose after dinner.

Dom's right central and lateral incisors just broke through his gums. He now has 6 teeth! Chris still just has the 5.

 

 Chris was playing standing up against the coffee table and got a little too excited, lost his balance, and whacked his mouth against the table as he fell flat on his back It was so fast, I couldn't catch him in time. There was a tiny bit of blood (ended up on my shirt, he had his face pressed against me sobbing), but I couldn't find where he was cut. I don't know if he bit his tongue or lip or what (he has 5 teeth). He was so miserable. Then when I was putting him down for his nap, he couldn't drink his bottle good cause his mouth is hurt. He managed about 2 oz, stopping to cry the whole time, before he just kept on crying and I held him until he fell asleep. It was awful. My poor baby. He had a little bit of blood in his drool while he was trying to drink his bottle

 

It's not the first time he's fallen and cut himself, he fell against the toy basket about 2 weeks ago and cut his chin right beneath his lip. It wasn't deep, it was just a bit small scraped-off skin. He cried for a few minutes and then seemed to forget about it. Dom has had a split lip from Chris whacking him on the mouth with a toy just after he cut his bottom teeth. My poor little boys. I hate for them to be hurt.

Chris and Dom both have their upper left lateral incisor (I thought Dom's was his left cuspid, but I got a good look at it today and it's the lateral incisor). They are back to their afternoon nap now that I'm swaddling them and feeding them down for it again. Good. I'm going to give them a few days to settle into that before I mess with their night sleep again.

They have discovered that they can reach the window from Dom's crib. Chris has torn a couple of pieces off the miniblinds, so we have to take them down and put something else up in its place, or move the cribs around. I can't move their furniture by myself so I have to wait for Robert to have time to help.

 

Dom is cruising along the furniture really good now, he walks right along hand over hand. Chris is standing up a lot now. They talk to each other all the time. Sometimes when I come in for them in the morning, they're standing up in their cribs and patting each other. They like to give each other kisses as they crawl along, like a drive-by smooching LOL. Chris likes to hand things to me and wait for me to say "Thank you." He whacked his chin on the toy basket the other day, you can see the little booboo in the August photos page (new pics!). Dom cut a new tooth, #3 for him. His upper left incisor. So now he has 3 and Chris has 4 teeth.

 

Sleeping worse than ever and I'm having a PPD relapse. Blah. I'm trying to break them of being swaddled and fed down to sleep every time and it's very tough. They get up a million times a night. I wish they would stop already.
