WRITING
Copywriter: I have written copy for a wide range of
advertising, newsletters, brochures, press releases, etc. for such disparate companies as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater,
Book-of-the-Month Club, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the Citizens Committee for New York City, Lincoln Center Theater,
the Metropolitan Opera, Musical Theatre Works and New York City Opera.
Scripts for special events: I have written or contributed
to the scripts for a variety of special events including the New York Musical Theater Festival's 2006 "Best of the Fest" concert,
the Richard Tucker Music Foundation's 2006 "Rising Stars" concert, and the Metropolitan Opera Guild's gala, "Hart to Hart:
A Tribute to Kitty Carlisle and Moss Hart."
Speechwriter: I have written speeches for various high-profile
events, including a keynote address for actress Uma Thurman to deliver at the NYU Child Study Center's 2005 gala.
Journalist: As a member of the highly-competitive University
Press Club, I was the Princeton correspondent for two New Jersey dailies, the Trentonian and the Courier-News,
covering breaking news and writing both cover stories and feature articles. I also wrote various features for the
campus paper, Nassau Weekly.
Trade publications: I have authored articles for
Billboard and Theatre Times, and wrote "New Audiences Now!," a report to the non-profit arts community on
the creation and development of Lincoln Center Theater's membership program, which has become a model for arts companies worldwide.
This report is excerpted in Arts Marketing Insights: The Dynamics of Building
and Retaining Audiences by Joanne Scheff Bernstein, published by Jossey-Bass/Wiley in November 2006.
I also wrote "Lincoln Center Theater: The First 20 Years," with behind-the-scenes
stories of LCT productions, and wrote and/or edited souvenir programs for various LCT productions including Anything Goes,
Sarafina!, Carousel, Contact and The Light in the Piazza.
Liner notes: I contributed commentary and plot synopses
for four original cast recordings: Anything Goes (New York and London revival casts), Sarafina!, Parade
and Contact.
