The Johnny Bucket

The Johnny Bucket is nothing more than a wheelbarrow on steroids. It's part scoop, part loader. I got one to move mulch. Nothing more, nothing less. We use about 25 yards of mulch each year, and moving it by hand was just too much work. I don't have a real need or the space for a full loader and manueverability of the tractor would be too limited.

The Johnny Bucket is a light duty implement. I added a section of 2" angle iron along the lower edge of the support frame to strengthen it. I can lift a full load of pea stone from a pile with no problem now.

Johnny Bucket Controls

The Johnny Bucket is controlled with two ropes. One is used to pull the release pin to dump the bucket and the second is used to pull the bucket back up. With a full load (300+ lbs.) the release pin can be really tough to pull.

Here's the Johnny Bucket with a full load of stone, about 300 lbs. or so. The bucket is great for moving rocks, fire wood, and anything else you can think of.

Here's the Johnny Bucket with a full load of broken concrete. Some of the pieces were 100 lbs. by themselves.
