The fuel fairings were improperly repaired at several points in their lives. One of them fell off after 1500 miles of driving. They failed because the repair shop used an epoxy that doesn't stick to the material that they are made of.

Steps to repair the fairings:
  1. Dismantle and remove front fairings.
  2. Remove rear fairings for paint work.
  3. Straighten bent support structures.
  4. Attach rear fairings.
  5. Attach support rails.
  6. Attach front fairings.

The original front fairings are visible here. The little black box is the vorad side proximity sensor. The cutout for this is aftermarket. The material cuts easily with a dremel tool fiber cutter.

Dismantle Front Fairings
The fairings are held onto the truck by two rails. The upper rail has a lip that the fairing slides into. The rails are bolted to the brackets that are mounted to the frame.

The step treads are bolted to the frame brackets and sandwich the fairings. The bracket supports the step, not the fairing.

Remove Rear Fairings
The two bolts at the front of the rear fairings are partially obscured by the front fuel tank farings. The rear fairing's main attachment points are the eight bolts that secure the small stair treads to the support brackets. The rear fairings support the outside edge of the mud flaps. Four bolts connect the mud flap to the fairing and two additional bolts secure the mud flap to the chassis brackets.

Straighten Brackets
Once the front fairings were removed, the full extent of the damage to the fairing became visible. All three brackets are bent. If the head of the bolt is not supported flush with the support rail, the support rail will eventually crack and fail.

The bracket on the fuel tank is bent and there is a dent in the tank. To straighten this out may require that bracket to be removed from the tank. (On Edit: The bracket had to be replaced.)

Attach Rear Fairings
The rear fairings are attached to support rails on the fuel tank straps and the rear Vovlo mud flap. Attach to the mud flap first, then to the tank straps and finally install the stair treads.

Attach New Support Rails
The top support rail is mounted to the top of the three forward brackets (there are a total of 5). The bottom support rail is only bolted to the third bracket (front brack of the fuel tank. The front is supported by the fairing which is mounted to the stair treads.

Attach Front Fairings
The front fairings slide into a channel on the top railing and then are bolted to the bottom railing using seven bolts. Final attachment is done by bolting on the stair treads. I had difficulty with the alignment. The bottom railing has a slotted mount about 1" in length. This had to align the bolt holes up such that the stair treads can be mounted and aligned with the holes. I gave up trying to align the fairing with the front fender well.
