Wickford is steeped in history and was an important seaport in Colonial Times. We suggest that you visit the book store on Main Street for complete historical information. Main Street is only a short walk from Wickford Marina.

The Town has dozens of shops and a few restaurants. We provide a complete listing when you check in. In general, you can buy anything you need here. For example:-

• Groceries: Ryan's Market has top quality meat, fish, produce, bakery items, and everything else.

• Prepared Food: Wickford Gourmet has an unbelievable selection of gourmet foods - cheeses, pate, fresh baked breads, and just about any food specialty item you can think of.

• Fresh seafood including lobster and clams: Gardiners' Wharf has first quality seafood including prepared items for you to complete on our barbecue grille. Gardiner's is either a ten minute walk or a short dingy ride away.

• Restaurant: The Seaport Tavern is in the center of town with an outdoor patio as well as a second floor dining room. They have a complete menu from inexpensive to moderate. They also serve beer and wine. The Carriage Inn serves a traditional menu, has an excellent reputation, and will transport you both ways. Bay Leaves is a very popular new restaurant with middle eastern cuisine located one mile away from Wickford Marina. The Place is 1/2 mile from Wickford Marina and serves Pizza and Italian Specialties for take-out.

• Clothing: Wilson's of Wickford has a complete selection of casual and cruise wear for both men and women. Their quality is clearly better than average but you'll probably be pleasantly surprised at their prices.

• Breakfast Restaurants: the Waterfront Grill on  Brown is right down town will have a complete breakfast and lunch menu.

• Liquor: Wickford Package Store is in the center of Town.

• Ice Cream: Treats of Wickford has all kinds and flavors. They also have a deck overlooking Wickford Cove which is the busiest part of Wickford Harbor.

• Drug Store: Brooks  is only one and it's also across from Ryan's Market.

• Gift, antique, and jewelry shops - there are many of these.

• Marine Supplies, Repair and Engine Service, as well as hauling are immediately available at or through Wickford Marina. Just tell the office what you want.
