About the Niagara Experience Players

The Niagara Experience Players, (NEP) is a non-for-profit organization founded in 1975 by Ms. Marva Frails, Ms. Janet Dunstan, and the late Mr. John Eckler. The NEP enables the youth of the WNY area to experience the pleasures of the musical performing arts. The dream is to offer all children, regardless of talent or financial capability, the opportunity to participate in theater productions. That dream is still our driving force today. The age limits are generally 8 years of age to 18 years of age.

The NEP offers to completely different and unique musical revues each year. Each production is complete with sets, props, and costuming. The emphasis is on vocal harmony and dance choreography.

"Auditions" are held for each production. These are for the purpose of meeting the participants and to assess their current levels of talent. The NEP does not have a pre-set cast size for any production and generally accepts all those who desire to join, within the specified age limits. No potential cast member will ever we turned away, or released because of financial problems.

The NEP, unlike other organizations, has always held belif that family activities, school and school related functions must take priority over our rehearsals and performances. The NEP, tries to make every effort to avoid a cast member from having to choose between two activities. The NEP's rehearsals are held on Saturday afternoons at the Summit Park Mall. The NEP summer show, is a touring production, has performances all over the WNY area. Parents provide the transportation to and from these events, furthering the family atmosphere NEP strives to maintain.

Rehearsals and conducted in a disciplined, but relaxed atmosphere. The more experienced cast members are encouraged to help the newer cast members. This tradition coupled with professional vocal and dance instruction, enables participants to recieve and extensive insight into the theater world.
