To be in high fashion and tightly corseted did not come without its price.  The frequent use of corsets literally crushed women's bodies.  Their ribs became deformed and their internal organs such as the uterus often times collapsed.  However, devices were designed for women to insert into themselves, worn throughout the day, internally, to support their uterus and help prevent its collapse, these objects were called Pelvic Pessaries and Dr. Morrell was an actual manufacturer of these devices.  I have replicated these devices and created for them a case adorned with diagrams, directions, and testimonials, such as the one in the center where we see a much older woman, with a very tiny waist, proclaiming that, "forty years later and my uterus is still intact", with the help of Dr. Morrell's Pelvic Pessaries.  I have employed a dark humor to expose what great lengths women went through to be attractive and hint at the fact that women still go through such great lengths today.
