REVIEWS
"In these confusing, argumentative days of what is jazz and what is not, good things still emerge from unlikely places
like, for instance, Philadelphia. Recorded live in concert at the Painted Bride Arts Center, "Father John" D'Amico provides
what is indisputable solid, classic trio jazz." Verne Tietjen- No Name Jazzletter

"A few of the arrangements have a pop flavor, but D'Amico's major influences
seem to be mainstream swingers like Count Bassie (e.g. "3-D" Blues) and especially Bill Evans (particularly in Brubreck's
"In Your Own Sweet Way"). D'Amico emerges here as a good player." Bart Grooms - Option Magazine

"E.A.R.S. Records has found a fountain
of cool waters in pianist D'Amico. He is a consummate musician and composer whose style contains elements of Count Bassie,
Bill Evans, and early Keith Jarret, but he is definitely his own man. He has one of the light-fingerest styles to come down
the pike in ages, pure sheer pleasure.
He's not out to distinguish himself as a new coming
stylist, he just plays the tightest standard cool keys around. . .and plays the bejeezus outta them. A lot of pianists will
not touch this stuff, it's the music equivalent of fine-line drawing: one thing gets out of place even slightly and you lose
everthing. Your touch has to be ice-confident, your timing absolutely perfect and perceptions razor sharp. D'Amico breezes
it." Marc Tucker - Camera Obscura 9/16/88
