There have been a few songs, favorites of mine, that did/do not exist in karaoke.  So I set about to create my own.  There are more that I would like to create but getting the background music or eliminating the voice from original releases was not always successful.
Here are some of my relative successes.  They are posted here as ZIP files containing the MP3 and CDG files, here for those of you who know how to extract and use them.

AUBREY by Bread. - - This creation I used a very good midi file that I found on the internet.  I added a little intrumentation of my own to it and this is the result.  Chart Buster later release their own version.

CATS IN THE KETTLE by artist unknown. - - This is a spoof song that I heard on line, written to the music of "Cats In The Cradle" by Harry Chapin. Can't remember where.  It's a cute/fun to sing, and here it is.

CRYING IN THE RAIN by A-Ha. - - I liked this version of the Everly Brothers song and was able to get quite a bit of the vocal out it the released version.

DIDN'T WANNA HAVE TO DO IT by The Lovin' Spoonfull.  - -This is a song I first heard by accident when I select the wrong side of a juke box 45.  I don't even remember what was on the A side.  Back in the 60's I was a 'Change Boy' in "Henry's Playland", a former arcade in Seaside Hights, NJ.  My boss kept dropping in his coin to played "El Paso", and I kept doing the same to play this one.  Another song I was quite successful at getting out the vocal.

FEBRUARY SONG by Gosh Groban - - This song has two version released in karaoke, but I found that they were missing some verses.  So here is my own with Josh's voice partially removed.

I WANT A LOVE THAT WILL LAST by Renee Olstead - - You may know Renee Olstead as the red headed daughter 'Lauren' on the sit-com "Still Standing".  You may have heard this David Foster song in "The Princess Diaries 2".

MY SWEET LADY
by John Denver.  - - This was the very first one I created using a midi file that I created myself.  It's pretty much modeled after the way I play it on my guitar.  It has since been released as a formal karaoke track.  I have not yet heard that version.

ONLY LOVE CAN BREAK A HEART by Gene Pitney - - I have the Music Maestro version of this song but it's a wash-out.  Haven't heard the Sound Choice version but it was more fun to make my own then to buy it.  The voice I think came out OK!!.

SLEEPWALK by Santo and Johnny.  - -  So you didn't know there were lyrics to the song!!!!  Here the sound track is the original brothers Santo & Johnny Farina intrumental.  The song was written by their sister Ann, a prolific song writer,  A vocal rendition was release by a singer named Bette Anne Steele.

Today by The Jefferson Airplane - Surrealistic Pillow - - Another one of my favorite oldies. I also loved "Embryonic Journey" from the same album but it does not have any lyrics!!!

TOWER TALL by Gene Pitney.  --  Another fairly unknown song by Gene.  It was always one of my favorite Gene Pitney songs.  The music here is my own, again created as a midi. I doubt you'll every find this one as a formal karaoke release by other manufacturers.
