East on the Rhine across from Strassbourg, we were looking frantically for lodging
on the evening of July 10. In a small town with a large name, Friesenheim-Heiligenzell, we were directed to Dino's. What
luck! Aperitif outdoors followed by a great dinner. Later, a twilight walk under a darkly beautiful sky. In the morning,
the beautiful planter boxes on our windows stood revealed. A memory to be treasured. The intriguing symbol in Dino's
card above reentered my consciousness when I saw a reference to a Hotel Trinacria in Giuseppe di Lampedusa's novel
of Sicilian aristocracy Il Gattopardo. I remembered then hearing from our host Dino that he was Sicilian.
