Maryland is home to over 1000 Black Heritage sites, tourism attractions,
landmarks, statues, slave quarters, special events, heritage festivals, beaches, parks, and lots of fun things to do, for
familys, couples, special meetings, retreats, vacations, reunions or business gatherings.
On June 25, 2005 the new
$48 million Reginald Lewis Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture opened and joins Maryland's other two
dozen Black Museums. On June 28, 2006 the new Frederick Douglass - Isaac Myers Maritime Park & Museum opened in
historic Fells Point.
Both museums are located along the Baltimore Black Heritage Trail. Many school groups, families
and history lovers choose BBH TOURS highly-acclaimed tour - the Frederick Douglass Path to Freedom Walking/Driving
Tour in Fells Point. The tour has recently been awarded inclusion in the National Park Service Network
to Freedom Underground Railroad Program.
