The idea of formation of a cricket team in Tidewater area grew out of discussion of two members in 1998. In 1999 , one of the members brought  a full cricket kit from India to play cricket in the Hindu Temple of Hampton Roads’ ground. In first two years, the club limited to 5 members. But these members continued to have practice cricket with hope to have more members in near future. These members determination to continue practice with few members brought TIDEWATER CRICKET CLUB  in reality. In 2002, the club had their first friendly match with Tennis ball. There were 24 players present in this match. Since then we have 28 members in our club. The team named TWCC joined  Mid Atlantic Cricket Conference in 2004. The team was captained by Himanshu Patel and Sanjay Patel in 2004. In the same year the team was ranked 15 in MACC.  In 2005, Mahesh Patel captained the team and the team was rank again 15 in the league. In the year ending The Curry House 20-20 Tournament at Richmond , TWCC won the championship by defeating all five teams in the tournament.  Due to continuous increase of members, the club added another team named TACC to play in  MACC in 2006.The members are drawn from Hampton Roads  and Elizabeth City, NC.  In 2006, TWCC became champion of North. TACC has started well by winning two games in the league and several close lost. In the beginning of 2007 , TIDEWATER CRICKET CLUB decided to change their name to HAMPTON ROADS CRICKET ORGANIZATION(HRCO). HRCO organized the first cricket tournament

in March 2008. There were 12 teams participated the

tournament and Elizabeth City Tigers became the winner of the tournament. Please read the article about EC Tigers in The Daily Advance.
