The Chelmsford Bass Tacklers was founded as a non-competitive teaching club. The club format has changed since than but we retain our basic values. The current club format is based on an individuals accomplishments, however while the club will be competitive, we will emphasize the sharing of knowledge and keeping a friendly atmosphere.

The club continues to attract novice fisherman and is made up of a blend of pro anglers as well as inexperienced tournament fisherman. Over the years the club has taught many anglers the finer art of fishing and many of our members have moved on to fish the more competitive clubs and pro trails. With our current club format we hope to retain the experienced angler and provide our newest members with access to their fishing knowledge.

Each year we try to fish a combination of new and previously fished waters. This keeps the interest high and hones the skill level of our anglers by providing them with new challenges each year.

Here's a great article about one of our club's founders, Hugh Worth.
