Who’s zoomin’ who?

Ok, I finally have some time to write down a few of my thoughts. First thing, this was a great episode.

Second thing.  We know Juliet is doing Ben’s bidding and the whole trip to the beach is a setup but, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind that she is off the charts pissed with Ben and may be playing him also.

I also think that Jack has some idea that something's not right and is hatching his own little plan. He seems to be too smart of a guy to swallow Juliet's story.

We 're also starting to see a different side to Sawyer in the last couple of episodes. From the looks of him when:

he and Kate were returning to camp from the Hydra.

he discovers Kate has left to rescue Jack without saying goodbye.

Kate and company return.

I can't help but think that the writers are showing us a man who has allowed a woman to get under his skin, possibly for the first time in his life, and is seriously questioning his priorities. The one sure thing in this series is "lost" souls redeeming themselves.

While the details on the pregnancy issue and Juliets fantastic voyage are key parts to the puzzle, the most amazing thing to me in this episode was how far in advance Ben has thought all of this out. This episode made that clear above all else.

Regarding a few things I’ve seen being asked on the boards:

Someone mentioned the helicopter noise in the preview and was wondering how it could fly that far. I say “How far?”. Neither the sub nor any chopper could possibly hold enough fuel to have come from very far away. These must be last leg of the journey conveyances. I'm convinced there is civilization close by.

A lot of people noticed the telephone set on Ben’s desk. The internet as most people know it did not exist at the time of the DI’s construction. In that period computers were tied together by telephone trunks/circuits. If the computers in the stations were tied together at inception, which it would appear they were, then there has to be a local telephone switch on the island. That would be the references on the map to the Dharmatel circuits/relays. It's may no longer be functional given their dependance on the walkie talkies.

The TV feeds and monitors in the Flame are more modern than the Dharma gear. It appears to be a satellite uplink like the TV stations and the military use. They're probably picking up feeds from Australia or New Zealand, that’s why the quality is so good.

The mark on the tree and the mark on Juliets back. A lot of disagreement on this one. I have a very clear closeup of her new tat with the tree marker pasted below it. I think they are (or are supposed to be) the same symbol. The only diference is that the symbol on the tree is a very precise wood carving, the symbol on Juliet is supposed to be a swollen scar burnt into tender flesh as punishment.

Here's why I think this. My son and his "posse" gave each other brands when they were young and foolish. I've seen the logo and it's very precise and stylized. In reality, even after 10 years of healing it looks like frickin' Pacman.

Now I'm all verklempt thinking about Pacman.

The second reason I think this is because both symbols were drawn by the same group of people. What are the odds that any group would have two meaningful symbols that looked so much alike? My wife must have a half dozen gold and silver crosses in her jewelry box and no two look alike, but they all represent the same thing.
