Given by Bill Dotson, July 2005 - A testimony to the favor of God. We arrived in Charlottesville, VA around 9:30 P.M. at the Omni Hotel for two days of UVA orientation for our son Nathan. The first thing the girl at the desk said was, "Mr. Dotson, we're sorry but...", then proceeded to tell us we didn't have a room because they were overbooked and, even though we had a reservation, there were no rooms left. But, as our hearts began to sink, she said, "We are going to put you up at the Boar's Head Inn for tonight, for free, and give you dinner for two tomorrow in our restaurant." Is this acceptable to you, Mr. Dotson?" Well, the Boar's Head Inn is a AAA four diamond resort inn that we have only looked at from afar because of the expense of staying there. But now, we are going to stay there for free and have a free meal in the Omni's fine restaurant. I had a hard time keeping from dancing around the lobby as I said, "Yes, that will be acceptable." That, my friend, is the FAVOR OF GOD! |
