 The Project Linus Mission

Project Linus is comprised of hundreds of local chapters and thousands of volunteers across the United States. Each volunteer and local chapter all work together to help us achieve our mission statement, which states:

First, it is our mission to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

Second, it is our mission to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children.

Together we have distributed over two million blankets to children in need since our inception in 1995.

Donation Guidelines

It is the policy of Project Linus National Headquarters to retain 20% of all donations collected at the chapter level to be used at the discretion of the Board of Directors to support all chapters. These are expenses that the chapter does not have to pay on the local level -- but are paid for them by PLHQ. Funds are used in part for the following expenses which support chapters:

1. Auditing and accounting
2. IRS reporting and preparation of returns
3. Insurance
4. Marketing
5. Branding Development
6. Product Development
7. Internet and Website maintenance
8. State Registration fees and preparation of returns
9. Equipment leases and purchases
10. Rent and storage
11. Printing and reproduction
12. Office supplies
13. Telephone
14. Shipping

Your donations should be made to our National Headquarters at:

♥  Generally, donations will be tax deductible. However, donors are encouraged to consult with their tax professionals to determine tax deductibility.

How Can I Help?

Contact your local chapter. The coordinator can tell you how you

can help Project Linus in your area.

Make a blanket and donate it to your local chapter of Project Linus.

They will take it to a facility where it will be given to a deserving child, permanently.

 Get your community involved.

Scouts, schools, religious organizations, senior centers, sewing guilds, and craft shops are all excellent places to find potential blanketeers.

Tell them about Project Linus!
