How you can help:

Make a blanket or quilt and donate it to your local chapter of Project Linus. We will take it to a facility in Bucks, Montgomery or Philadelphia County, to be given to a deserving child permanently.

The ideal blanket is machine washable, made from any pattern, crocheted, knitted, or sewn and quilted or fleece, in happy colors. We use all sizes, as we help children ranging from babies to teens. Larger sizes (40" x 70" or so) are needed for the older kids at this time.

Please wash all blankets prior to donating them, it will save us a lot of time.

Important Notice:

For the safety of the children, we are only able to accept blankets from a non-smoking home.

Although you may not smell the smoke, we have been advised by the allergist we consulted that the smoke residue stays in fabric and materials.

Studies have shown that it remains there even after several washings. Even after exposure to sun or air, you may not be able to smell it and it probably won't hurt a healthy child but may cause a reaction in a child with compromised health.

Project Linus has a non-smoking policy for this reason.
We decided it would be best not to take a chance by accepting blankets from someone with a smoker in their home. We would never want to take the chance with a child who is already experiencing health problems. This is a case where we must put the child first. I'm sure many of the blankets are beautiful and well-made, but our organization has a non-smoking policy and we ask
that you abide by that.

Tell someone you know about Project Linus. This is a great opportunity for school groups, churches, temples, Scout groups, quilt guilds, senior centers, and 4-H clubs to get involved to benefit the children of the community. Even a child’s birthday party may be a good opportunity to make quilts for Linus. Email us for ideas!

If you cannot knit, crochet, or quilt, we can still use your help.

Donate yarn, fabric, batting, fleece or thread. Or donate gift cards for Wal-Mart, Joann Fabrics, Michael’s or AC Moore Craft Stores.

All donations are tax deductable.

We have adopted 3 senior centers that make 40+ lovely blankets each month. We have pledged to supply them with more materials. Last year we donated over 500 skeins of yarn. They need lots of yarn and fleece to make beautiful warm blankets!
