Haiku

Perfections (Paramitas)

Action (Karma) – Fruit (Vipaka)


Generosity:

Gracious charity

Give freely loving kindness

Reverse accretions.


Morality:

Follow noble paths

Dispatch the deceitful mind

True freedom returns


Renunciation:

Grasping possessions

Retards liberation renounce

Soar into lightness


Patience:

Little time to waste

Transitory ephemeral

Composure succeeds


Energy:

Passion for virtue

Engenders determination

Vitality results


Truthfulness:

Suspend delusions

Melancholy mind impedes

The orbit to reality


Determination:

Overcome suffering

Uncorrupted intention

Refines defilement


Wisdom:

Differentiate

Objective from subjective

Liberate the mind


Equanimity:

Strive for peace and joy

Composure in all actions

Serenity follows


Loving Kindness:

Endeavor to achieve

The bodhisattva promise

Loving Compassion

These are my own renditions of Haiku, and they do not follow the style of the Japanese which usually tie the poems in with the seasons, but are designed to point out the practices of the bodhisattva
