The end of the rust repair is near...

Left front inner fender in, right front removed

All four inner fenders were rusted as well as the cowl.

Cowl removed

Tip 3:  I left the shock tower braces bolted in and I installed a monte carlo bar to make sure that nothing moved while I had the inner fenders and cowl removed.

The cowl was nearly completely rusted around the top hat and it was rusted through on the driver's side as well.  I had no idea how I was going to repair it before I got the parts car. The cowl in the parts car was rust-free so it was easier to remove the entire cowl section from both cars and weld the one from the parts car in.

I replaced all four inner fenders.  This wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it would be.  I also had to patch rust holes in the tops of the shock towers and the frame behind the bumper brackets.

The cowl welded in place.

The cowl from the parts car went in easily.  This is the last of the major rust repair...Finally!!!  The hard part is behind me.

This is pretty much the end of the rust repair.  Next the body will be media blasted, welds cleaned up and seam sealer applied.
