Here is a tip on how to make internet explorer go faster
(this tip also works for avant browser)
Increase maximum number of simultaneous connection in Internet Explorer

By default, Internet Explorer 6 allows only two simultaneous server connections, which is fine for normal use, but can bog down when you are connecting to web pages with lots of graphical content. By increasing the number of possible connections, you can use your Internet bandwidth more efficiently, and load complex web pages faster.

To increase IE maximum connections:

Start REGEDIT.

Navigate to 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings'

Add the following two DWORD entries:

'MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server'        value equals '0000000a'
'MaxConnectionsPerServer'        value equals '0000000a'

Exit and reboot.

                                   Hosts file

If you use the standard Internet Explorer, then this is for you.
This host file will block all ads (popups, banner ads) that are normally visible when using standard IE.

To install the hosts file:
  • Go to  Start > Search > click on For files or Folders... Then click on All files and folders
  • Then type in Hosts
  • Click on Search

  • After searching is complete, look in the results for a file named Hosts, the location of the file should be C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Once that is done, doubleclick on the hosts file then open it with Notepad then rightclick and click on
Select all then press the Backspace key.

Once that is done, copy and paste the contents of the host file that you downloaded from this site, into your hosts file.
