First, go to Start> run> then type in msconfig.
After that, click on Launch System Restore
then click on Create a restore point. After creating a restore
point, continue on to the tip below. (always create a system restore point before doing any tips shown on the
web)
This is a tip that can make your pc run a lot faster, in many cases the bootup will go almost
3 times faster depending on which/ how many programs are in your startup.
(you will see a major performance increase when gaming)
_
Go to run and then type in msconfig and
press enter. Then click on Selective Startup, then uncheck the box that says
load startup items.
Then go to the tab that says services and then click on hide all microsoft services then uncheck every thing that appears in the list after you hide the microsoft
services.
Then after that, if you want even more speed.
Uncheck "hide all Microsoft services" then after that, uncheck everything
in the list but the items that have the name of your Printer.
Except these services (leave these checked)

These are all the services you will ever need to run just about any program on earth
except the crapware AOL Internet access software
AOL internet acces software may not run after you do this so this is not recomended for AOL users.
If you are using a wireless connection, this tip may stop it from working so if you run into this problem,
go into your msconfig and check everything that has the word wireless in it.
All msconfig changes can easially be undone by opening the msconfig window, then selecting
"Normal startup".
