The 1953 Lancaster County Council JSP

Press release photo of the Lancaster County Contingent at the 1964 National Scout Jamboree with the caption: "Soup's On" At Boy Scout Jamboree. Pennsylvania area boys turn chef during the Sixth National Boy Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge State Park, Pa., July 17th through 23rd. Cook's duties are rotated among 50,000 scouts from 50 states and 30 foreign countries. Canned soup, a favorite of the young chefs because it eases up preparation and cooking time of chowders and stews, appears on the menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Gathered around the soup chef are from left: Denny Meber, Lancaster, Pa., Arnold Gautz, Lancaster, Pa., Bill Wolf, Lancaster, Pa., Dow Showers, Lititz, Pa., and Garty Coleman, Lancaster, Pa.
