Liberty High School Grenadier Band to March in 2009 Rose Bowl

Two hours before the kick-off of the Liberty Freedom Game, Mr. Jake Peppers, flew into Bethlehem to deliver the following message to 235 thrilled Liberty High School Grenadier Band members:

"After reviewing many hundreds of applications from high school bands across our nation and beyond, and after considering the Liberty High School Grenadier Band's exceptional musicianship and presentation, as well as its many ongoing musical accomplishments, the Pasadena "Tournament of Roses" sends greetings and congratulations as the Parade Selection Committee officially invites the Liberty High School Grenadier Band to march in the Tournament of Roses Parade, January 1, 2009, in Pasadena, California.   Of the many hundreds of high school bands who apply, only SEVEN are accepted annually.  So, Liberty Grenadiers, again, congratulations on a truly awesome feat!"

The Liberty High School Grenadier Band would like to thank one of our band's biggest fans, Mr. Jake Peppers, for his support throughout the application process and recognize two Liberty alumni, Mayor John Callahan and State Representative Steve Samuelson, for their roles, as well.

One million people lining the parade route will watch the Liberty High School Grenadier Band on January 1, 2009. Another 80 million viewers will watch the parade on nationally televised programs aired on NBC, ABC, & HGTV. But that's not all - internationally, 350 million people in over 100 countries will get to see the Liberty High School Grenadier Band perform in the Tournament of Roses Parade.
