1922
Liberty High School opens. Louise Morris, followed by George Hubbard, Supervisors of
Music in the BASD, envisioned an instrumental music program at Liberty. Joseph Ricapito,
then a student at Lehigh University, was asked to lend his expertise, eventually taking
on the directorship.
1926
Band organized, Joseph Ricapito, founder/Director.
1927
Feb. 3 - First Band Concert, Joseph Ricapito, Director
1934
November 22 - Fall Band Concert, Joseph Ricapito, Director
1935
March - Guest Conductor, Band - Edwin Franko Goldman, world-renowned bandleader
1936 (First year recorded entries appear for "Band & Orchestra Mothers' Club")
Feb. - Guest Conductor, Orchestra - A. M. Weingarter -Sponsorship of Band and Orchestra members to attend
Cleveland Orchestra at Lyric Theater in Allentown.
March - Guest Conductor, Band - Edwin Franko Goldman [autographed and supplied at no charge his book,
"Life of Dr. Goldman," so Mothers' Club could raise money (each copy sold for 10 cents)]
