Darius has done a series of versions of this famous painting originated by another artist.
Mother and Me's subject is of a most familiar moment in all our lives. Or one we hope we have had. Baby's
utter dependence on mother. Baby's constant need for care and support. A mother's somewhat anguished acknowledgement
of just how tremendous and burdensome her responsibility is in the caring and shaping of this tiny fragile being. Notice
the strained worked look of her hands. Worried? Is she alone in this world? Overwhelmed in her new role?

People are amazed that pencils were used at all. However pigment is completely fixed and dry. It does not smudge or come off on hands, other papers or the glass component of frames.
