Word of God Parish is rich in cultural and ethnic diversity.  This is exemplified in the St. Barnabas Choir, which has maintained the Slovak tradition of St. Barnabas Church that dates back to its formation nearly 100 years ago.  Nearly every Sunday, parishioners and visitors are treated to a traditional Slovak Hymn.  Director Michael Burke is a lifelong member of St. Barnabas and has been its Director of Music since 1976.  Preserving our ethnic diversity is very important at Word of God, and the St. Barnabas choir is the link to our Slovak past.

While the St. Barnabas choir does sing in Slovak frequently, new members DO NOT need to speak, read or sing in Slovak.  Everyone is welcome to join - and we are sure that with some time and patience, you will be comfortable singing all of our musical selections!  We rehearse on Tuesdays beginning at 6:45pm in the St. Barnabas Church balcony.
