It's Always a Good Night to come to Children's Choir! That's because our kids have a great time while learning about their faith through the music we sing.
And BOY do we sing! Ours is probably one of the most active children's choirs in the city of Pittsburgh, singing every week during the school
year. The choir acts as Cantor for the 9:30 Sunday morning Mass as well as for special events like First Holy Communion and
Confirmation. With the assistance of Mrs. Lorraine Holliday and our Junior Cantors, the children lead all hymns, psalms
and liturgical music.
Please note that
while we do sing for Mass every week, we recognize that family obligations and scheduling conflicts do come up every so often
and that's ok. We just ask that our children (and their families) do the best they can to attend rehearsals and our
scheduled Masses.
Children's Choir is more than just singing. At
our rehearsals you will hear lots of laughter and silliness - and you may even get a treat (if it's an especially good night to be at children's choir!) Children are invited to join the choir beginning in 3rd Grade (you are WAY too busy in 2nd grade!) During the 2004-2005 season, the Children's Choir ballooned to 18
members! Although some of our older children may graduate to other ensembles this year, the addition of new 3rd graders
hopes to swell our ranks to over 20. By the end of the fall, the Children's Choir could become the largest musical group
at Word of God!
Rehearsals are on Sunday evenings from 6:00 - 7:00.
No auditions are necessary - so come join the fun!!!
