HAKIMADHUBUTI.jpg

Haki means "justice," and Madhubuti means "precise, accurate and dependable.”

Depend on it: 24 books of poetry and non-fiction; founder and chair of the country’s largest independent black publishing company, Third World Press; co-founder of four Chicago charter schools; and creator of the Gwendolyn Brooks Center for Black Literature and Creative Writing at Chicago State University.

A living legend deserves some serious fun. Please join us at this special awards ceremony, "roast" and party to honor Haki.
