Comments:
The earliest Rothwell traced so far is Richard, born circa 1770 in Elton, Lancashire. He was the proprietor of Hams Farm in Radcliffe. Eldest son John was born in Radcliffe and had an occupation recorded as a cotton manufacturer. Both the Longshaw and Rothwell families were involved in cotton manufacturing, as were some of the Chantlers.
Margaret (Daisey) Killick had daughters Mary, Margaret Ellen, and Harriet Evelyn, and sons Richard Rothwell Killick and Charles Henry Percival Killick.
The daughter of Percival Killick is Margaret Anne Killick Ramsay. Margaret (Daisy) Killick is the mother of Margaret Ellen Killick, who is the mother of Nancy Evelyn Margaret Jackman Tooby (married to John Tooby), mother of Margot, Grace, and William.
Harriet Evelyn Killick Russell moved to Canada where she had Margaret "Peggy" Parvish Russell, Florence Joan (Mrs. Victor Carter), and Richard "Dick" Edward Russell.
An excellent history documenting the Chantler, Longshaw and Rothwell families was researched and written by Margaret Killick Ramsay and is available to family memebers.
