The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) was established
in 1942. The squad building is located at the corner of Snyder Ave. and Locust Ave. in the township of Berkeley Heights, NJ.
The objectives of the BHVRS are:
- To provide ambulance and emergency medical services to all residents of Berkeley Heights, and to any person
requiring such emergency services within the Township of Berkeley Heights.
- To respond to calls for ambulance assistance in neighboring communities, or when requested by the NJ State
Police or the NJ First Aid Council.
- To aid and assist the NJ First Aid Council in furthering its work within the state.
The squad is an all volunteer, non profit, organization that is funded primarily
by donations.
Squad crews are scheduled to respond to emergency calls 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.
In 2006, the squad averaged 73 calls per month.
The BHVRS provides mutual aid to New Providence and to Long HIll Township on a regular basis and to other
surrounding towns when needed.
The squad always needs volunteers. If you are interested in joining or would like additional information,
