All Saints
Day
Sunday, November 1st. On All Saints' Day, we remember all the saints who have entered
the Church Triumphant. We are also reminded that all who are baptized are members of the Sainthood of all believers.
As in past years we will remember members who have passed away since last All Saints'
Day with candles on the altar. This year they include: Gary O., Marie B., and Barbara
G.
During the Prayers of the Church, we will also remember special family and friends who
have also been called to be with God this past year.
Thankoffering Sunday
Women of the ELCA will
lead our annual Thankoffering Worship Service. There will be "Thanksgiving Hymns" and music. A Social Hour will follow the
service.
As in past years, we
will collect non-perishable grocery items, which will be collected during the Children's message. Pastor will delvier the
food baskets to several of our families who can use a little help. Any money donated wil lbe used for food cards.
Acolyte
Training
On Sunday, November
1st at 10:45am there will be Acolyte Training during Sunday School. We will have training for new, as well as continuing acolytes.
Let your friends know.
Service of Healing and Wholeness
On Thursday, November 5th at 7:30pm, there will be a
service of Healing and Wholeness. Sometimes, with all the various stresses in life, one can find it more difficult to feel
God's love at work in our lives. Sometimes, it is even hard to find things for which to be thankful.
It is at times like these, when we find ourselves searching
for God's promise to always be with us. It is at times like these, when we need to take a moment apart from all the meetings
and commitments, to focus on God's desire to grant us wholeness.
If this describes you, please join us at 7:30pm, on Thursday,
November 5th, to "Be still..." and feel God's loving and healing embrace.
Christ
the King Sunday
On Sunday, November 22nd, the final Sunday before the beginning
of Advent is Christ the King Sunday. On this last Sunday of the Church Year, we celebrate the Kingship of our Lord, Jesus
the Christ.
In observance of this lesser festival, we will have the opportunity to celebrate our
Lord's Sacrament of Holy Communion.
First Sunday
of Advent
The First Sunday of
Advent is Sunday, November 29th. The days of Advent point the people of God toward the three comings of our Lord: He came
among us at Bethlehem, He comes among us now, He will come again in Glory!
On the First Sunday
of Advent, we will involve the whole congregation in "Preparing the Way of the Lord!" Symbols of Advent will be used to "make
ready" through the "Hanging of the Greens."
The Lighting of the
First Candle of the Advent wreath will take place, and we will learn the religious significance of some of the season's other
symbols.

24th at 7:30pm, all are invited to attend the annual Community Thanksgiving Service on Tuesday, November 24th at 7:30pm. This
year, the Service will be hosted by Community Methodist Church on Route 130.

Marie B. was called home to God's eternal kingdom. Her funeral was September 29th. We extend our deepest sympathies to her
husand, Tony, and his family.
All You,
Who Are Hiding in the Pew...
Okay, isn't it about
time to get in gear and begin singing in the Choir? We need some people to occupy those nice, comfortable seats, where you
get a "bird's eye view" of things!
In other words, let's
get back to practice, so the Choir will be in fine tune by Christmas, okay? Gene is waiting to hear from YOU when you are ready to begin!
Holiday
Helping Hands
Watch for the appearance
of the Angel Tree very soon! It's that time of year when we get ready to open our hands and hearts to help some children
and their families, who will have very little this Christmas!
Youth Bowling

On Sunday, November
15th, from 11:45 until 2:00pm, all youth in Sunday School & Youth Group are invited to go bowling after Sunday School.

Congratulations

Ideas
If you have an idea
for an appropriate fund-raiser, please talk with a concil member or Pastor. If you are willing to help organize a "Trash &
Treasure Sale", please let us know. It's a good way to recycle unneeded items, and a good fund-raiser.
Council
Vacancies
We have two vacancies
on Church Council. If you are willing to serve, or know someone who is please check with Dave Mandich.
Thanks to...
- All who donated to the Fall Sunday School
project.
- Those who brought items for the treat bags
for the shut-ins, and went "Trick & Treating" to visit them.
- All who help to count offerings each week,
and to Ralph & Sandy who keep the records.
- All who help in the mission and ministry of
our congregation.
