Thursday, December 30, 2004, page 5A Arlene Shaffer----- LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Arlene R. Shaffer, formerly of Muscatine,
died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at her home in Pennsylvania. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park. She was born in Dewart,
Lycoming County, the daughter of Hazel Marion Weber and George W. Weber. She married Forrest R. Fisher July 31, 1947. He preceded
her in death Nov. 19, 1968. She later married John W. Shaffer Dec. 19, 1981. She moved back from Muscatine to Lock Haven and
went to work in Addies and later in the offices of the late Dr. Edward Hoberman, Piper Aircraft and the American Cancer Society.
She was an active member of St. Lukes United Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her family, was a wonderful wife
and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed visiting her two daughters, Cathy in Iowa and Pam in Florida. Survivors include
her husband, John Shaffer; two daughters, Pamela Fisher-Poorman and husband, Stephen, of Lock Haven and Cathy Lee and husband,
Michael, of Muscatine; four stepchildren, Larry Shaffer, Mae Vanemon, Patricia Anderson and Diane Swales; a brother, George
'Jake' H. Weber; four grandchildren, Samantha S. Lee-Balmaceda, Stephanie S. A. Simander, Valerie A. Lee-Smothers and Sean
Michael Simander; six stepgrandhildren; five great-grandchildren, Caleb F. Simander, Alexis Marie Balmaceda, Anthony Michael
Balmaceda, Kathleen Elizabeth Simander and Ryan Thomas Smothers; and five stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death
by her parents; her husband, Forrest Fisher; and three sisters, Betty Weber Brisso, Eleanor Weber Shaffer and Katie Weber
