Pieces of Sculpture created late 2007 & 2008:
Both pieces were built from new stock of steel:
16guage (thin, as can bend it by hand) for the
"Two Lovers" piece
and 1/16" sheet for the abstract piece.
The techniques of building involved the
use of oxy-acetelene bronze rod brazing,
not electric welding devices.
The abstract piece was created in steel,
as taken off of a styrofoam model.
I used a hand saw & other hand tools to sculpt
the styrofoam, then used those measurements
transferred to the sheet steel.
I cut the steel with the Plasma (electric +
compressor oxygen) Cutter.
Size:
Approx. 43" high of the piece,
with the addition off the floor by the wooden base
of 14" high; thus, total from floor @ 57"
deep (lenght of the top piece)@ 41"
width (length across top[ piece) @ 33"
weight approx. $125 lbs. (not incl. base)
This piece is not cast, but looks like it!
Do you like the new pieces??
