Dawn of Happiness
This sculpture is made of basswood, about 9 inches tall. I was remembering the joy of falling in love when
I sculpted this piece. It is set on a cherry wood plinth. The cherry wood was green and split as green wood can, but,
I think it provides a suitable contrast in color and finish to the basic sculpture.

Night Watch, Morning of his first Battle
This sculpture is made of one piece of Butternut wood, about 14 inches tall. The figure is
finished with multiple coats of Danish oil. This is a true Norse image based on the most current data. I tried to show the
fear and resolve of a young man who is facing his first battle. He's worried that he will fail his family and himself by running
away;and busy convincing himself he must not. I was flattered by a visitor at one of my shows who came in and commented that
he had seen this same look on many faces in Vietnam. The emotional reality is not based on any particular war, it occurs in
every generation.

Relief Carved Portraits and Cameo Cutting
Boards
Would you like a carved portrait of a loved one? How about
a cutting board for your parents with their grandchilds portrait carved in it? I carve profiles from photos in either a cutting
board or a piece of wood of your choice, like basswood, cherry wood, walnut, or mahagony. You can order them in different
sizes and with a colored cameo border, or without the color stain. You could have them carved in a fireplace mantel or
the kitchen cabinet doors. The rectangular cutting boards can be used in the kitchen or framed and hung up as a picture.
