Personal:
So you might be asking yourself how I got started racing. To tell you the
truth, I'm not quite sure at what point I decided I was going to do it. I mean I always loved going fast. I always owned a
camaro (several) since I got my license. We used to burn outs and other car-acrobatics in the Ludlow Big Y parking
lot.
I have always been infatuated with the automobile. I probably have owned over 100
cars. Even now I own way too many. (4 street cars, 2 race cars, 4 motorcycles and two trucks).
My first race experience was a "DemDuro" at Riverside in 1990 when I was 17. I had a
blast and I had a feeling they did not want me to come back. Something about passing people in reverse.. Anyway that
was my only race on a racetrack. I did lots of racing on Memorial Drive in Chicopee. When it wasn't patroled so heavily
in the mid 90's. But eventually it became too risky and I didn't have the cash to keep it up. I was putting myself through
school full time and working part time at UPS. Eventually I got my Associates and worked full time at UPS. I continued
going to school at night Part time at WNEC. After buying a house and other toy's like a VTX1800, I decided I needed something
else. My friend from work, Bill, lived in Stafford and we went to the races several times throughout the 2004 season. I also
went to WNEC with Joey Ferigno, who later won the 2005 Dare Stock Championship, and watched him with thoughts of whether I
could put a race car together. At the end of the 2004 season he introduced me to Dave Secore. Dave hooked me up with my first
car and helped me immensely getting it together. I got a motor from RAD and finally made the field for the first time in my
own car in Aug of 05. Purely with the intent of gaining some experience prior to 06. Well the year ended and I
decided to get another car. The #50 was good, but I needed something that wasn't as modified. I ended up calling Fred Nees
and picked up his #4 for a good price. I even bought his trailer.
So that's pretty much how I ended up racing. It was something I wanted to do and I did it.
The bulk of the work was pretty much done by myself. Dave Secore and the #8 crew helped me out with some very important items
and direction and helped me with scaling and the setup etc. But all of the wrench turning, fabrication, parts building,
and even the painting was done by myself. Unfortunately I have no sponsors. Between school, work, and racing I haven't had
allot of time to search around.... Maybe someday...
But for now, Work hard but Play harder....
