Started out being an awesome day. Got another tire for the RR (Woot). Ran both practices and car felt really good. I'm embarassed to say i hadn't checked my toe for several weeks so when Rob suggested we check whilst he was checking his, mine was a lil toed out.. Err try 3/4 of an inch! Not sure what knocked it out, but had never seen it that bad and not notice it for the past few weeks..
Anyway, I figured now that it was back to where it should be, it could only be better for the race. Starting in 4th I thought I might have a chance if I could get out front.
At the drop of the flag and into the first turn my car felt like it was on rails, for the first time since last year anyway. But it was short-lived, coming out of turn 4 on the 2nd lap it sounded like I was spinning my tires. I looked down and saw my tach jump to 6600 and I wasn't going anywhere. I threw it in drive and the same thing.... :-(  Not sure why but something in the tranny got smoked.
I pulled it in and when it cooled down it worked enough to drive it back to the trailer. I drained everything and oddly enough the fluid is still good and not burnt and no metal or debris is coming out so I'm not exactly sure what it is but out it goes and in with the backup. Just hoping the backup lasts till the end of the year. I just bought a truck as the Durango is for the wife and prob not the best tow vehicle lol. Got to put a hitch on that and hope to bring it to the track this week..But may wait a week or two to shake it out and make sure it tows fine..

Anyway, Another new winner this week and another green to checker race. I know it wasn't my turn to win since with my luck we'll have 5 restarts or something lol.. Silver lining might be I'll start on the pole next week. As long as my backup tranny holds up anyway.. Or something else decides to let loose..
