Best I can say is at least the tranny held up and me thinks it will last the rest of the season. (cross fingers, salt over the shoulder..etc)
My first error of the evening was not going out for the second practice. The car was not handling that good the first time out and I should have sorted it out but didn't want to push the tranny more than I had too initially anyway. So needless to say the car was waaay too tight when the race came.
Pretty much stayed in the top 5 all night, and a good thing as there was a lot of action behind. I lost track of the cautions but I know we had one before completing a lap, then we had a red flag a few laps later. Of which at the time I was in 4th, but when we went green the leader could not get his car fired so started 3rd. I beleive from there we went all the way until lap 14 and was only passed by the 04, so I was in fourth.  Half a lap away from the finish we had another caution and I knew that since my car was handling horribly I was gonna loose a few spots on the start especially since I was on the outside. Sure enough there goes the 51 and 00 by me on the start and as we come out of turn 2 on the last lap I guess the 00 and the 04 got into each other and the 04 went through the grass. 5th wasn't so bad I guess. Unbeknownst to me at the time I guess they decided to penalize the 00. Didn't see it happen so can't comment but the end result was a 4th place finish.
Not too bad seeing as most the night I spent looking down the straight aways out my passenger side window. My car was soo tight I had to break it loose on occassion to avoid the wall and not loose too much momentum. I guess all those years in my youth drifting in my camaro were not wasted after all...
I finally got back into the top ten in points but can't take too much credit since the 25 dropped out due to lack of funds.
Gonna need a win soon or I'm gonna miss the shootout at the end of the year for the first time in 3 years. (not sure if perfect attendence still gets you in or not... as it did my first year).
I can't complain too much I guess. Considering I do 100% of everything on the car myself. (I even changed the tranny last week completely solo in 7 hours). Have absolutely no crew at the track. Have no sponsors. Very limited time, (Yes honey I will finish remodeling the bathroom this week I sware...) and started a family the week after the fall final last year, I guess I'm not doing too bad.
The only thing that is "fast" on my car is the motor. My frame is from the 70's I think (evident from the avocado green paint when I stripped it), My brakes fairly stock. My engine is still in the stock location and my car is a good 70lbs over. (I might trim that this week, no need to be that heavy..lol) in short the car has allot of room for improvement just to keep up with the rules we are allowed. Probably why I'm not all that frustrated running where I do since I know the car could be allot faster. Gives me something to look foward to over the long winter.. Aside from remodeling my kitchen of course..woohoo...
