Hmmm, where do I start... I'll first preface that I may come back here and correct things after I see the video.. There was allot of action last night and trying to remember everything that went on and being 100% accurate is not gonna happen.... then there is the whole point of view thing and, as I think any driver will concur, the view from the seat can be completely different from what you see on tape. Sometimes proving, sometimes disproving and sometimes it still doesn't make any sense..lol
Started 5th and on the first few laps I had my buddy Rob really wanting that inside line.. but unfortunately there might have only been a foot between me and the car in front of me. After a few shots in his door, (Yes even though racers park next to each other and are good friends they still will race each other just as hard as they do everyone else), the car in front of me was slowing and the car in back was using his bumper generously I beleive he managed to get in front of me and things sort of straightened out..
This is where the memory gets foggy a lil. Primarily because the next thing that happened upset me so much it wiped the prior few minutes from my memory. (just google Blind Rage). I think I was in the 6th-8th place range when a car who was prob just a tad faster than me, wanted to get by me, which is fine that is what the outside is for as I was ahead of them and by racing 101 rules have lane choice. Besides Frank had just given a speech about this a few weeks ago about using the outside lane. But apparently they felt they were entitled to the inside. (I am guessing they think I was blocking, but blocking is when you won't let them by at all, they could have taken the outside lane as I left it wide open, all I was doing was protecting the inside) After a couple taps between us coming out of turn 4 and somewhere around the start/finish line at full speed he gets on my rear bumper and turns right. I am 99.9% sure it was intentional. (This is where i have to see the vid to be sure) Regardless either way it was rough riding and should have been called. The past few times I was dumped they said there was nothing on tape and no one saw it. This is definitely not the case here as it was right down the front stretch. Which amazingly I was able to keep it off the wall and not get hit by the cars behind me. Funny thing is I am one of the few guys that has raced him clean all year. And I know he has gotten some bad deals with other guys taking him out but it was never me and the track shouldn't have looked the other way which i kinda feel they did.  I even read the tracks breakdown of the race and have to quote it...
"The top-5 ran in line until Provost spun into the frontstretch wall.."
Lol.. two things, 1. I "got" spun and 2. I didn't hit the wall. (I was at least 1/2 an inch from it).. They make it sound like I just lost control and started spinning..
Anyway, what are ya gonna do I guess.. Didn't bother going up to the booth and asking why he wasn't flagged, the 100 lapper was starting and it's not like it's gonna change anything.
So after starting at the rear 20 something I was looking for my comrad and I think he got into another altercation and received some damage and had to park it.

There were a few more close calls for myself as I would have to say it was the most eventful race of the year, and for everyone, not just myself. I remeber the 13 going through the grass in turn two and coming out and missing my car by a few feet I think. There was another melee going into turn 3 where a bunch washed up and went through the grass and I just gunned it and made it through and I think that's where I made up a few positions. Then there was a four or five wide deal coming out of turn 4 where it was the 00 on the inside then me, then the 20 then another car or two outside of him. Mostly just a racing deal where a couple cars slowed up front but we all get back in the gas at various times to put us at the apex at exactly the wrong moment. (Of course any one of use probably could have backed off prior but that's doesn't come to mind until contact starts happening but by then it's too late.) Fortunately for all of us there was another pile up right behind us that brought the flag out just a second before our mishap. Well i say fortunately but for me it was unfortunate because I think I had gained a few positions..lol
Oh well, two more friday nights to go. It always seems to heat up towards the end of the year. Hopefully next week will be a little calmer and maybe we can get all 15 laps in..lol
